ABOUT US

Aims Admissions Policy Opening Times

Frant Nursery School is situated in the heart of the village of Frant, overlooking the village green and has operated from Frant Memorial Hall since January 1986. We have charitable status and are registered with Ofsted. Our last Ofsted inspection was in February 2008 when we received a good report which can be viewed by clicking here.

We now follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum encouraging children to learn through well planned and structured play activities, helping them to achieve the early learning goals. All children are continually observed and the staff keep ongoing assessment records for every child.

Aims

-

Provide a quality, caring and nurturing nursery school environment for young children aged between 2½ and 5 years old within a local community setting.

-
Enhance the early skills and education of children in a parent involved community based group.
-
Provide a secure and stimulating environment both in the setting and outside.

Admissions Policy

We are registered to take up to 21 children per session. Currently, there is a high demand for places and we have therefore put in place an admission criteria similar to that of the school.

1. Special Needs
2. Sibling (of a child currently attending the nursery)
3. Living within the Frant catchment area
4. Living outside the Frant catchment area

For any children living outside the catchment area, we are unable to guarantee a place, until the January before they are due to start.

Opening Times

Monday to Friday 9.15am-1.15pm
Monday & Wednesday - 'Rising-5's' only 1.15pm-3.15pm

There are no hard and fast rules about how many sessions a child must attend. However, we suggest that they start on 2 sessions per week and request that the parents give an indication of the number of sessions they would like to reserve and for how long.

The 'Rising-5' session gives children in the year preceding starting school a chance to sample a full day. The activities in the afternoon become more focused preparing them for school.

We work on a 38 week year and generally follow the school term dates.
